Your Pregnancy Q&A Stop Smoking
Q: How do I stop smoking when pregnant?
A: Statistics show that nearly two thirds of all smokers would like to stop but are too scared to try or struggle to give up.
Pregnancy is often the time women win the fight against cigarettes, because they know their smoking is not only affecting themselves but also their foetus.
Cigarette smoke during pregnancy can increase the chance of your baby being born with a cleft palate. It can also lead to a lower birth weight for your baby and even affect the baby’s lung development. Therefore it is strongly recommended that pregnant women stop smoking.
As far as homeopathic remedies go there are a number of remedies that can help: Ignatia 200 make smoking feel less satisfying. Nux vom 200 and Staphysagria 200 both help with irritability, Pulsatilla 200 helps with irritablility and Tabaccum 30 can decrease your cravings for cigarettes. Take a mixture of all these remedies 4x daily (10 drops on the tongue).
Smoke your last cigarette, and then hang in there for three days. After that consider yourself a non-smoker. After three weeks of not smoking you are not physically dependent anymore. Be very wary of stepping into the ‘just one cigarette’ trap, because every time you have ‘only one’ your craving for nicotine starts all over again.
